The short version: ToolsNow tools run locally in your browser, so we never receive the figures you type or the files you open. The pages themselves use cookie-free analytics, and optional Google Analytics if you allow it. Advertising is off. The details are set out below.

Your inputs stay on your device
Every calculator and file tool on ToolsNow runs as JavaScript inside your own browser. The numbers you type, the PDFs you merge and the images you resize are processed in the page and are not uploaded to ToolsNow. There is no upload step, so there is no copy of your inputs for us to store, log, share or lose.
Files and text entered into local-processing tools stay in your browser. Pages make separate requests for website assets and cookie-free analytics, and Google Analytics if you allow it. Advertising is currently disabled. Those requests do not include files or text entered into local tools. The currency converter’s exchange-rate request is covered next.
The one exception: the currency converter
Every tool on this site processes your input locally, with a single exception. Live exchange rates cannot be calculated on your device, so the currency converter requests them from ExchangeRate-API (exchangerate-api.com). Loading that tool means your IP address reaches that service, in the same way it would if you visited any website.
The amounts you type are still never transmitted. Only a request for the current rate table is made; the conversion itself happens in your browser once the rates arrive. Rates are cached in your browser for 12 hours so repeat visits usually make no request at all.
This exception is stated on the currency converter itself as well as here. Every other tool processes your input in the page. Separately from the tools, pages load the analytics described below; those requests do not carry your files or the text you enter.
What is stored in your browser
We store your light/dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage under the key “toolsnow-theme”, and a cached copy of the currency exchange-rate table under keys beginning “toolsnow-rates”. Neither leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes both.
Your Google Analytics choice and the date you made it are stored locally under “toolsnow-analytics-consent” for up to 180 days. Both allowing and declining are remembered. Clearing site storage removes the choice, and you will be asked again.
ToolsNow does not save tool inputs in browser storage. Reloading or closing the page normally clears the working state; browser form restoration may retain fields. Files you download remain on your device until you delete them.
Analytics
Two analytics services are used, and they behave differently, so it is worth separating them.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. It does not fingerprint visitors or track them across sites — it records aggregate information such as which pages were viewed and roughly where traffic came from.
Google Analytics 4 is optional. Its script is loaded only after you choose “Allow analytics”, or when a remembered, unexpired choice already allows it. It can set cookies with names beginning _ga and use a randomly generated client identifier to recognise repeat visits. It records page views, referrers, approximate location derived from IP address, and device and browser characteristics. Per Google’s documentation, IP addresses are not stored or logged by Google Analytics 4.
This is basic Consent Mode: before you opt in, the site does not load Google Analytics or send its cookieless measurement pings. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation stay denied even if you allow analytics. Google Signals and ad personalisation signals are disabled in the site’s tag configuration. Query strings and URL fragments are removed from the page and referrer URLs passed to the Google tag.
What it does not receive is anything you put into a tool. No file, no file name, no pasted text, no extracted colour, no calculation input and no result is ever sent to analytics. Analytics sees which page was opened, not what you did on it.
You can change your choice using “Privacy choices” in the footer. Turning analytics off disables further collection from this tag and clears accessible _ga cookies for this site. You can also use Google’s browser add-on or manage cookies in your browser settings.
Advertising is off
Advertising is currently disabled on ToolsNow. The site does not load AdSense scripts, display advertising slots or request ads. Allowing Google Analytics does not enable advertising.
If advertising is introduced again, the site’s consent controls and this policy will need to be updated first. Your analytics choice is not permission for advertising.
Consent
The site provides its own small analytics choice panel, independently of any advertising service. The same choice is offered everywhere: “No thanks” keeps Google Analytics off; “Allow analytics” enables it. Declining does not prevent you from using any tool.
All Google consent defaults start as denied. Only analytics storage is granted after you opt in; advertising purposes remain denied. There is no automatic acceptance when you browse, close a page or wait.
Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to reopen the panel and change your choice at any time. If JavaScript or storage is unavailable, the tools still work; the footer link leads to this policy if the panel cannot open. A choice can apply to the current page even when storage is blocked, but will not be remembered for your next visit.
Who receives data, and where
Cloudflare hosts this site and provides cookie-free analytics; as the host, it processes technical request data such as IP address. Google provides optional Google Analytics only after you allow it. ExchangeRate-API provides exchange rates for visitors who open the currency converter. Advertising is disabled.
These providers operate globally, so serving a page may involve processing outside your own country, including in the United States. We do not sell your data, and we do not share tool inputs with anyone, because we never receive them.
There are no ToolsNow user accounts or stored copies of tool inputs. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and use that information to handle your request. Avoid sending confidential files or identifiers when reporting a problem; a made-up example is usually enough. Google and Cloudflare describe their handling and retention of analytics and hosting data in their policies.
Your choices and rights
You can clear locally stored preferences and cached rates through your browser settings. Use “Privacy choices” for optional Google Analytics. To ask about information you have sent directly to ToolsNow, such as a support email, contact us at [email protected].
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, object to its use or withdraw consent. Contact ToolsNow with questions about processing associated with this site; we will handle information we control and help identify the appropriate provider where needed.
